Alpaca Walks, Margam Park

Rhos Farmers Market, Pontardawe
The Rhos Farmers Market offers a delightful experience featuring locally fresh products and handmade items. Held at the Rhos Community Centre on August 22nd, this market is dog-friendly, family-friendly, and boasts a warm, indoor atmosphere. Shoppers can find homemade chocolate, pure honey, fudge, Welsh cakes, and dog treats, all while enjoying the friendly community vibe.
Afan Adventure Dog Days
For those seeking activities to enjoy with their canine companions, Afan Adventure Dog provides a variety of options:
- Canine First Aid: Learn essential first aid skills to care for your dog in emergencies.
- Mantrailing: Train your dog to use their scent-tracking abilities to find people, suitable for all dogs and a great confidence booster.
- Dog SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding): Enjoy paddleboarding with your dog, with instruction on safety and equipment use.

Dawn to Dusk Enduro, Glynneath: 24th and 25th August
The Dawn to Dusk Enduro races promise an adrenaline-packed weekend with various endurance challenges. Whether you’re looking to take part in a race or want to spectate, you’ll enjoy the very best of what South Wales has to offer.
There is a 6-hour, 10-hour, 12-hour and the only 24-hour race in the UK, which means there will always be something going on. With camping available for the weekend, you can choose when and what to watch!
The Great ZooLab Bug Hunt, Margam Castle
On Thursday 29th August, The Great ZooLab Bug Hunt invites children to explore the outdoors and discover fascinating bugs. The sessions include turning over logs and stones to find creatures like centipedes and woodlice, with an indoor component where children can get up close and hands-on with unusual minibeasts.
Sessions will be held at Margam Park Castle at the following times:
- 11:00 – 11:45
- 12:00 – 12:45
- 1:00 – 1:45
