Neath Round Table, the organisers of NRT Fest, not only know how to organise a great festival, they also actively support the Neath Port Talbot community.
You may have heard of NRT Fest, the music festival hosted in Neath that has seen the likes of The Hoosiers, Scouting for Girls, and Atomic Kitten take to the stage. The family friendly festival takes place annually, this year it came to Cwrt Herbert Playing Fields on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th July. For those lucky enough to have attended, we can imagine that you had your fair share of ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ to Toploader, feeling ‘Satisfied’ with Britpop heroes Dodgy and left knowing that you are the ‘Number 1’ with Tinchy Stryder.
But what you may not know is that behind the scenes, Neath Round Table, the event organisers of NRT Fest, are taking major actions to support the local community.
Neath Round Table is a local registered charity, run by volunteers. The charity is made up of men between the ages of 18 and 45 who come from all walks of life. To financially support the charity, they run two main fundraising events – NRT Fest and their Christmas collections. Between 2018 and 2020, Neath Round Table donated £40,000 locally. Some of their recent fundraising campaigns have focused on raising donations for the Morriston Hospital Children’s Ward as well as for local food banks.
The charity looks to support services in the local community that help people with disabilities, as well as the elderly, the young, and the wider public. Some of the services that Neath Round Table support include education and training programmes; economic development and employment initiatives; and healthcare provision advancements. They achieve this through grants to organisations, providing human resources with volunteered time from its members, and sharing donations with individuals in need.
It is the efforts of charities like Neath Round Table, and the joy that they bring not only to those that they help, but to those who experience their incredible events, that make us proud of our area. Together, We Are NPT.
You can support Neath Round Table by booking tickets for the next NRT Fest and sharing the event details with your friends and family.
