Summer has finally arrived in Neath Port Talbot, and we’re more than ready to explore our town centres and support our local businesses!
This summer, why not challenge yourself to visit a different part of the valley, make a conscious effort to shop at an independent store, or try a new activity?
There’s so much to see and do in Neath Port Talbot and we feel so lucky to call this part of the world home. Let’s find out what you can get up to in our town centres this summer:
Neath:
The popular Neath Steam & Vintage Show is back this year on the 14th & 15th June at Llwynfelish Farm in Crynant.
Expect an event packed with local talent and entertainment, including crafts, steam engines, cars, tractors, fire engines, trade stalls, a car boot, kids tug of war, and more.

If you’re a film fanatic, then you’ll love this next one! Wonder Cinema will be coming to Neath RFC from 18th-21st August, where you’ll be able to snuggle up and enjoy an outdoor movie as the sun sets.
Enjoy an evening of entertainment before the film begins, with delicious food and drink available.
Port Talbot:
Is it really summer if you haven’t spent at least one day basking at the beach? We’re so lucky to have Aberavon Beach right on Port Talbot’s doorstep, with a long stretch sand to set up camp on.

If you’re a bit off a history buff, then you’ll love the ‘Becoming Richard Burton’ exhibition in the Aberafan Shopping Centre, which runs from 7th July – 14th November. Learn all about how young Richie Jenkins discovered his love of acting, and how his world-renowned talent was shaped by the landscapes and communities here in Neath Port Talbot.
